Creator Statement

Katie Morrow b. 1987 is an artist and eductor. Born and raised in Wellington, she holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honours from the College of Creative Arts Toi Rauwharangi, Massey University, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from The University of Auckland. After living and working over seas Katie returned to New Zealand in 2013 to continue her art practise while establishing a career as a teacher. Having tested diverse mediums and themes, she is best known for a largely monochromatic, mythical aesthetic developed in a series of works on paper. Rendered in thick indian ink, ambigous creatures, distinguish her most recent work. She has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Auckland and Northland.
